Tawni Baker

Tawni has been surrounded by loving dogs and cats her entire life. Her first pet was a big, beautiful, white German Shepherd (Cindy), who once pulled 3-year-old Tawni by the wrist out of the street to safety.

Tawni graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.S. in Business Administration with a Marketing emphasis. She first came to the Wood River Valley to visit a college friend in 1991. A few months later, she packed her bags and moved to Idaho. Tawni later married that college friend (Jamie Trevino), and they now live in Hailey with their son (Eli), daughter (Corey) and 3 Shelter alumni: Brownie, Kitty and Angus.

Tawni has enjoyed a variety of professional positions in the Valley that have all focused, one way or another, on providing service and support to people and/or businesses. Her previous roles include Advertising Sales Rep/Manager for the Wood River Journal, Realtor with Windermere and Technical Recruiter.

Tawni can’t get enough of the Shelter’s residents.  Every time one of our animals goes “home,” it makes her day! Tawni is thrilled to be working together with Shelter Staff, Board of Directors, incredible volunteers and amazing donors on the Capital Campaign to realize the long-term dream of a new and much-needed Animal Welfare Facility and Campus.
