The Animal Shelter provides many opportunities for visitors and members of our community to interact with the cats and dogs at the shelter. Students from our local schools are invited to come spend time with our staff and learn the principals of responsible pet ownership. Citizens are encouraged to come play with the cats or take a dog for a walk. It is our mission to teach children and adults alike how to care for animals and how to be responsible pet owners. The Shelter’s Education Committee partners with the Shelter’s Management Team to host many offsite outreach programs to support our teaching efforts and reach out to the community.

Join us at Hikin' Buddies! Each Wednesday ASWRV dogs will be vying for your attention at the Adams Gulch Trailhead, hoping you can take them for a hike. The Shelter brings family friendly, adoptable dogs to Adams Gulch from 9:30-1:00 and encourages members of the community to take the dogs out from some exercise.
